Equipment

  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • air fryer
  • cooking spray
  • small bowl

Ingredients

Fritters

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the diced apples.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching for even cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer.
  • While the fritters are still warm, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  • Dip each warm fritter into the glaze or drizzle the glaze over the fritters. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the fritter batter. Make sure to not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and a crispy texture.
