  • 1 pound Fresh Shrimp large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 1 bunch Asparagus (about 1 pound) fresh asparagus, woody ends trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter divided
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 large Fresh Lemon zest and juice
  • ¼ cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley chopped, for garnish
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper To taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (Optional), for a hint of heat

  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper. Trim asparagus, then mince garlic and prepare lemon zest and juice.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté asparagus for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp, then transfer to a plate.
  • Add the remaining butter to the skillet, then sauté minced garlic for 30-60 seconds. Cook seasoned shrimp in a single layer for 1-2 minutes per side until pink.
  • Pour in broth and lemon juice, bringing to a simmer while scraping the pan. Stir in lemon zest and red pepper flakes, then return asparagus and toss to coat.
  • Remove from heat, adjust seasoning, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender. Adjust seasoning to your preference before serving.
