  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Ranch Seasoning Mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Au Jus Gravy Mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup sliced pepperoncini
  • 2-3 tablespoons pepperoncini juice

Preparation

  • Place chicken in the slow cooker; cut large chicken breasts in half if needed.
  • Evenly sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  • Distribute pieces of butter over the chicken and dry mixes.
  • Scatter pepperoncini slices and pour pepperoncini juice over all ingredients.

Cooking

  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.

Finishing

  • Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  • Return shredded chicken to the pot and mix it into the flavorful sauce.
  • (Optional): For a thicker sauce, remove some liquid, whisk in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water), and stir until thickened.

Notes

This recipe is incredibly versatile and can be served with rice, mashed potatoes, or on slider buns. Adjust the amount of pepperoncini to your spice preference.
