Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Sharp knife

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cooked chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or more, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded chicken, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then mix well.
  • Unroll the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Spread the chicken and cream cheese mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border if preferred.

Assembly and Baking

  • Tightly roll the pastry into a log from one of the longer sides, then slice it into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  • Place the rounds on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is some space between each scroll.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scrolls are golden brown and puffed.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. These scrolls are best served warm, but can also be enjoyed at room temperature. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
